Senior Java Engineer

ColdSpark seeks an exceptional Senior Java Engineer with a desire to work on cutting-edge infrastructure applications deployed by Fortune 500 companies. The successful candidate will be in the top 5% of subject-matter expertise, have excellent logic and problem solving skills and a drive to make a difference in the state of the art. The Senior Java Engineer will be working closely with a tight development team to create high-performance enterprise server applications. The Senior Java Engineer will work on the cutting-edge of technology, engineering the core components of ColdSpark’s industry-leading infrastructure products.

• Must be “self-motivated” and capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks as delegated
• Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments
• Communicate with other management, developers, product managers and technical support specialists on product issues
• Must be a “team-player” with the ability to work within a collaborative environments

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience is acceptable
• 8+ years proven work experience in software development with a primary focus in the following areas:
  • Sockets, Non-blocking IO, TCP/IP
  • JDBC, SQL, Hibernate, JDO
  • Spring and other Application Frameworks
• Must be creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems
• Must be collaborative in driving decisions through engineering
• Ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented methodologies and design patterns
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)

Optional Requirements

• Working knowledge in the area of Agile/Scrum Development practices
• Experience developing multi-threaded applications
• Experience in an email environment; proficiency in SMTP mail conversation
• Working knowledge using:
  • JavaMail, SMTP, MIME
  • JUnit, Ant, Subversion
