Java Engineer

ColdSpark seeks an exceptional Java Engineer with a desire to work on cutting-edge infrastructure applications deployed by Fortune 500 companies. We are looking for well-rounded developers with excellent logic and problem solving skills, able to demonstrate subject-matter expertise, and have a drive to make a difference in the state of the art. You will be working closely with a tight development team to create high-performance enterprise server applications.

  • Must be self-motivated and capable of managing their priorities and tasks as delegated
  • Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments
  • Communicate with other management, developers, product managers and technical support specialists on product issues
  • Must be a team-player with the ability to work within a collaborative environment

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience is acceptable
  • 4+ years proven work experience in software development with a primary focus in the following areas:
    • Sockets, TCP/IP
    • JDBC, SQL, Hibernate, JDO
    • Spring and other Application Frameworks
  • Must be creative and efficient in proposing solutions
  • Ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of object oriented methodologies and design patterns
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)

Optional Requirements

  • Working knowledge in the area of Agile/Scrum Development practices
  • Experience developing multi-threaded applications
  • Experience in an email environment; proficiency in SMTP mail conversation
  • Working knowledge using:
    • Non-blocking IO
    • JavaMail, SMTP, MIME
    • JUnit, Ant, Subversion
    • Mule, Axis, Acegi
